1. Athens Flying Week 2013 23 – 29 September 2013 

The final countdown for the second Athens Flying Week, which will occur the last week of September 2013, from the 23rd until the 29th, having as a peak the air show at Tatoi airport, has started. 
Athens Flying Week is a project whose second year implementation has placed itself among the most successful events in Athens, as last year more than 20,000 people attended the event while this year more than 50,000 are expected to come. 
Initially, during the aviation week of Athens, Syntagma Square will have an aviation-theme kiosk that will serve as a reference point where people can be thoroughly informed about the event. 
On Wednesday, September 25th, a conference will occur at Divani Caravel Hotel from 2 till 9 p.m. with topics appealing not only to the general public but also to people with a greater interest in aviation. 
On Thursday, September 26th, a fascinating pre-show will be conducted at the beach of Palaio Faliro where the public will have the chance to enjoy Red Bull’s Alpha Jet, the globally recognized Breitling’s number one pilot Francesco Farnabaio, and three seaplanes with the skillful pilots M. Anastasiou, G. Alevizos and K. Rossidis. The starting time will be at 6 p.m. and the entrance will be free. 
The peak of the aviation week of Athens will be the three-day airshow at Tatoi airport (September 27-29, 2013) with the following performers: Netherlands Air Force (F-16 Demo), Polish Air Force (“ORLIK” Aerobatic Team), Francesco Fornabaio, Red Bull (Alpha Jet), Luca Bertossio, Jurgis Kairys, Blu Circe, Aeroclub Romania and WeFly! Team. A significant contribution to the air show will be the participation of the Hellenic Armed Forces, the special air forces, the Hellenic Police, the helicopter pilots Mr. Sofianos and Mr. Ververelis, and aircraft modeling. 
Aside from the airshow, a series of ground events, activities and happenings will also take place. These include trade exhibition, kid’s park, Panhellenic Flightsimmers Conference, as well as hospitality area, DJ line ups & happenings. 
A major aspect of Athens Flying Week is that it will boost the tourism in the city of Athens. In this effort, a great contribution has come from the Municipalities of Acharnes, Palaio Faliro and Athens, ΕΟΤ, SETE, HAPCO, Marketing Greece and the Athens-Attica Hotel Association. The scheduled Fly In that will take place in collaboration with AOPA HELLAS from Sept. 25th until Oct. 1, 2013, will, also, add another significant tourism wave as many visitors from Europe are expected to attend. 
Every step of the project is planned to provide a unique experience to those who want to live the thrill and excitement of flights. The ultimate goal is to stimulate these feelings to children, youngsters and families as well as to aviation pilots.
