Dear visitor,
We will be there, at Tatoi airfield (LGTT), to welcome you at the 24th IAOPA World Assembly and the Icarus Aero Expo Athens 2008.
But before that and in order to easy your way up to LGTT, we have a few recommendations:
1) We suppose that you have already registered through the dynamic input form Login page for visiting pilots in our website. No traffic will be accepted if not registered (there is a registration deadline).
2) It is strongly suggested (as described in the Greek A.I.P.), that before landing at LGTT, you have already landed at an International entry airport, on your way to LGTT. Those possible airports could be:
- LGKR , for those coming from central and west European origins . - LGTS , for those coming from central and east European origins . - LGRP , for those coming from south Turkey and Cyprus and Middle East origins. - LGIR , for those coming from Middle East and north African origins - LGMT , LGHI for those coming from north or central Turkey.
You will be asked to fill up a General Declaration form for the leg from this entry airport to LGTT.
3) Approaching LGTT the following items have to be considered :
- LGTT is in the Athens TMA , so VFR routes are being applied. See here - For local LGTT traffic, there have been set three reporting points in order the LGTT tower, to handle local traffic properly. These points are shown on the chart, as TATAN, LIMNI and HOAKA. Note that those reporting or holding points are not official A.I.P. points but they have been set by LGTT tower in order to handle traffic properly. - There has been set (only for visiting pilots between 6-16 June), one special route, published by NOTAM , to facilitate traffic from or to LGKR, inside the Athens TMA. This is from KOR NDB direct to LGTT -at 6000- feet overhead reporting point called TATAN. You can use this route, noting on your flight plan (for this part of the flight) as KOR NDB DCT LGTT.
- All traffic coming in from LGTS, LGMT and LGHI should enter the Athens TMA from north and northeast, follow the TMA line (westbound) and then follow the shortest cut to LIMNI point. Report approaching LGTT, 10 nm inbound the airport for further instructions (you might be asked to hold in one of these reporting points). - All traffic coming from LGKR , should enter the Athens TMA from the west , PIKAD to KOR NDB. After that they follow the special direct route KOR NDB to TATAN. Report approaching 10 nm inbounds the airport for further instructions (you might be asked to hold in one oh these rep points). - All traffic coming from LGRP and PGIR should enter the Athens TMA from the south east point SOREV and follow VFR routes and especially YDRA , POROS , EAST AIGINA, HELLINIKON , HOLARGOS. Report approaching 10 nm inbounds the airport for further instructions (you might be asked to hold in one of these repīrting points).
4) Just after landing , you will be instructed to vacate the runway and hold at the point C on the taxiway T , and then a follow me car will lead you to your parking position , as per the following Airport Operations Procedure A.O.P. manual. 5) All outgoing and incoming traffic between 6th and 16th of June the same rules will be followed. 6) It is strongly advisable to avoid using LGAV, due to increased traffic there and delays for the General Aviation pilots. 7) For all outgoing and incoming flight planning you should take into consideration the Air Show schedule and the Introductory Flights schedule. All other flights during the Air Show will be grounded or set on holding procedures. 8) All departing routes should be planned, in the opposite manner of the incoming routes. Special advice could be asked at the pilots center at the event A.O.C. (Aircraft Operational center) that will operate in the airport. See the airport map for the events at No 4
NOTE: Same procedures hold for Helicopters and Ultra lights Please also advise the Flying In Greece - Useful Information and Visitors' Benefits
